Read full description of the books 僕デ 2 [Boku No Hero Academia 2]:This series. It is so good. So, so, good. I don't know what else I can tell you. It is gold. It is love. I love this series so much, yet I've only read two volumes. Heck, I loved it since at least the first volume, but I don't know exactly when because I started reading the chapters first before I bought the volumes. So I had already read the first three chapters in this volume, but the rest was all new.
Hey, I guess it would be a good idea to maybe explain why this series slays me so much. Let's get the objectively least important thing out the way first: the art is GORGEOUS. Horikoshi is so amazingly fantastic at drawing faces specifically. I mean, literally everything he draws blows my mind, but the faces he draws are what stick out even more to me. They are hilarious and I love them. The character designs are also really nice, and I love the bonus sketches in between every chapter.
Speaking of characters, there are very many. I usually can never remember Japanese names very well, but I actually know the names of the main characters which is surprising. Here are the ones I know: Bakugou Katsuki, Ida, Uraraka... All Might... yeah that's it. I have trouble remembering the protagonist's name for some reason. Izuki? Is it Izuki? I don't know, gg. *EDIT*: This is Elizabeth from the future, I can now say with certainty that his name is not Izuki but is indeed Izuku. Anyway there are like twenty other characters who's names I don't know so whoops. Anyway, I digress. Because there are so many characters they are not all super fleshed out, but in this volume we can definitely see that we're getting there. I liked the teacher (Eraser Head) quite a bit by the end of this volume which was a good time for me. We can also already feel some character development from some other characters too which is just even more excitement. (view spoiler)[Katsuki would be the main one I'm refering to here. (hide spoiler)]
The main reason this series just captivates me so much is definitely the storyline. This is volume two so I'm sure we all know what it's about by now, basically it's about the goings on in the Hero Academy in this volume. I just love the whole concept of quirks and how almost everyone in society has them. I love finding out everyone's quirks and seeing how they use them. I love the battles, which are what make up the bulk of this volume anyway so even more fantastic. The pacing is really good and the way the volume ended had me so so so so #hype I even had to Snapchat my friend about it. I ain't even mad though because I got to this volume late and not only is the next volume already out, but I've already got it too.
I think I've gushed about this series enough for now. It's actually weird how attached I am to this series. Like I get really possessive whenever I see other people talking about it and I'm like, "Noo this is my love! You can't have it!" which of course is terrible. It's the best thing for more people to like it and support the author, but I can't help it. Like I'm so excited for the anime (out this April!) but at the same time I don't want this series to go mainstream just because of my own selfish feelings. Siiighhh. Anyway, good stuff, read it. (But secretly I don't want you to read it shh.)
